Roastest with the mostest

We thought it might be helpful to pair some of our favorite recipes with our budget saver posts in case anyone is thinking "alright, I've got all this meat, now what the heck do I do with it??"  While chicken is our primary protein, we splurged on some beef this month in the form of a roast at a more than 2x chicken price of $4.99/lb.  The weather's cold, we're fresh off another Cash Back Christmas, why not.

Quick and easy one here:
$18 for ~3.5lb roast
$2 for 3 cans of taters, drained
$1 for half bag of organic baby carrots
and the rest we'll call $3 to make the math easy:
1 pack Low sodium brown gravy mix
1/2 an onion
1 Packet of Ranch mix

That's it, $24 and a few minutes and dinner (+ a couple lunches) is on it's way.  Just throw it all in the crock pot with 1/2 cup water on low for 6-8hrs (until the meat's tender) and you've got ~6 very large and delicious servings at $4 each!
